Whew! What a month!!!! We have been so busy! It was a wonderful Christmas season though. We, as always, feel so blessed! We have a beautiful healthy family, a wonderful home, food to eat, and family and friends that we love.
We were also blessed with a very generous Christmas!!! We spent time in Wisconsin, had our own family Christmas, and had Christmas at the Hocks :) Lucky, lucky, lucky :)
Our Christmas began the weekend before Christmas. We headed on Friday the 17th to Wisconsin to visit my family in Oshkosh. I was completely terrified of an 8 hour drive with a toddler. (It was the first time we've driven not flown.) But Katelyn did AWESOME! She didn't nap much (despite us leaving at naptime) but she played well in the car and we only relied on about 2 hours of spattered movies on the DVD player. (God bless our portable DVD player.) I was very proud of her.
We got to spend time with family, and although we had to leave a day earlier than planned due to bad oncoming weather, we had a wonderful visit. We got to see my brother and his wife, plus my extended family. My sweet cousin Stacy made Katelyn a doll and playclothes (adorable!), a backpack, an outfit and a coat! She is really talented!
Katelyn also made out like a bandit from Santa, Nana, Papa, and Aunt John and Uncle Katie. Probably her favorite gift of the season was a gift from Santa at my parents house. Santa brought her a 6 foot in diameter inflatable jumpy filled with plastic balls. Over 700 balls in fact. It resides in our basement and Katelyn LOVES it!

On Christmas Eve, we had a quiet day together as a family. We headed to the mall in the morning to get Katelyn's picture taken with Santa. That went VERY poorly. She was terrified. In fact, we didn't even get a picture that turned out well enough for us to buy-crying or not. We came home and spent a quiet afternoon at our house. That evening we continued a tradition we started last year. Ross made a roasted chicken (delicious) and then we headed to Christmas Eve service at our church. Perfect :)
The next day we woke up and opened presents from Santa for Katelyn. She wasn't really into opening presents this year. She got some new dishes for her kitchen, a children's guitar, a monkey blanket, and a few other things from us. She got this large giraffe which she loved. We didn't snap many pictures-she moves to fast (hence the blurries) but we did get movies. I hope to find one that is small enough (size wise) to post on the blog.
Later on Christmas day we headed to the Hocks. As in Wisconsin, everyone was overly generous. We had a wonderful time and Katelyn had a blast playing with her cousins! They literally spent 1 hour running in a circle. Katelyn slept until 8:15 the next morning. That was my best Christmas present :)
